Elizabeth engages in a collaborative working relationship with clients, maximizing individual strengths to empower them
to affect change in their own lives and to achieve specific therapeutic goals. She has worked in both the public and
private sector in areas of mental health, domestic violence, suicide/crisis intervention, and short term residential treatment
for adolescents. Her clients include individuals (ages 13 through adult), families, couples, and groups, and she utilizes
primarily psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral (CBT) techniques. She assists her clients with a wide variety of mental
health issues including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, ADHD,
and oppositional defiant disorder. She also provides therapy to address difficulties in life adjustment, school, family
conflict, behavioral issues, self esteem, codependency, interpersonal relational problems, and grief to name a few.
She has a specific interest and extensive experience in treating trauma, particulary adult and child survivors of domestic
violence and sexual abuse or assault and is level I and II trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
for the treatment of trauma. In addition, Elizabeth has a passion for group psychotherapy and leads multiple outpatient
psychotherapy groups.
